Where will live classes be held?
Classes will be held on the first floor of the Business and Industry Services building. Parking is free. The actual room number for each class will be listed as you enter the building.

What are the 2008-2009 academic year tuition and fees?
Tuition and fees for the 2008-2009 academic year are $853 per credit hour.
How do I enroll?

Do I have to pay for the course at the time of registration?
No. An e-bill is sent to each student’s UIUC email address approximately one month after the beginning of the semester.
Can you bill my company or institution directly for tuition and fees?
Yes. If your education at the University of Illinois is being supported by an outside agency, the University Student Financial Services and Cashier Operations can bill the agency directly. Outside agencies can be your company or business, other schools, educational foundations, and governmental agencies.

Can the Illinois Veterans Grant be used for payment of tuition and fees?

Do I have to wait until I'm admitted to begin taking classes?
No, many students take courses prior to being admitted to get familiar with our online format. One course (4 credit hours) taken prior to admission to a computer science certificate will count toward the certificate. Up to 12 credit hours taken prior to admission the degree program will count toward the degree.
Do I need to come to Urbana-Champaign for any portion of the degree or certificate?
No. There is no on-campus residency requirement. The CS department does offer a Student Visitation Program for those who are interested in spending up to three weeks on campus.

Do I need to participate in computer science class lectures at a specific time of day?
No. Course lectures are captured as they are presented in class and placed on the course Web site later the same day. As long as you keep up with the homework and exam schedule you are free to watch the lectures at your convenience.
How are exams administered in an online course?
We ask each student to submit the name of an individual who may serve as an exam proctor. Once approved, we work with this individual to administer the exam at your location and return the completed exam to our office. Proposed proctors must not be your peer and must not report or be related to you.

Do I need to submit a transcript in order to register for a course?
No. It is your responsibility to review the description and prerequisites for each course before registering to ensure that you have sufficient background to succeed in the course. Transcript are only required when applying to the degree or certificate program.
