CS 511 — Advanced Database Systems

Course Description:
This course covers the internal workings of database management systems: query interpretation,
concurrency control, distribution, data buffering, schema management; and considers traditional
database management systems and newer approaches. Course material is presented and analyzed in terms
of a particular target application.

Prerequisites: A course in data structures and software principles (such as CS 225), and a course in database systems (such as CS 411).
