ECE 109 — Introduction to Electrical and Digital Circuits
Registration for ECE 109 is now open!
Transfer students please contact the ECE office to register at brunet@illinois.edu or 217-333-0716.
Non-degree students please visit the Credit Registration site to register
(Choose "Summer 2012 semester-based off-campus and online courses", CRN 35612)
ECE 109 is a rigorous class that provides a theoretical introduction to electrical and computer engineering. You will discover how a number of electrical and digital devices work. You will also learn how to design and perform simple analysis of circuits and systems and improve your ability to think critically about electrical and computer engineering problems and their solutions.
ECE 109 is an online version of the lecture part of ECE 110 which is required for all ECE freshmen at Illinois.
No physics or programming experience is required and math complexity does not go beyond the level of algebraic equations.
What makes this class unique?
Who should enroll?
Students who will spend at least one year in college prior to transferring to Illinois to pursue their ECE degree should enroll in ECE 109.
Why should I enroll?
Transfer students typically take an extra semester to graduate. You can keep pace with the Illinois suggested course sequence by enrolling in ECE 109. See a typical first semester with and without ECE 109 to compare.
